Marie Osborne

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year!  I will be teaching English 2, English 2 Honors, English 3 and 8th Grade Language.  I am also the GT teacher for 7th and 8th graders and the debate coach.

This is my 24th year as a teacher and my 8th at MM.  Working in this community has proven to be some of the most rewarding time of my career as a teacher. I love this school and community. I am passionate about helping my students become better readers, writers, and people. I enjoy seeing my students grow.

My fave book. I hope it will be one of yours when you leave English 2.

I am a graduate of Mabank High School, Tyler Junior College, and The University of Texas at Tyler.  I hold teaching certifications in Secondary English, ESL, Speech Communications, and Elementary Education.

I enjoy being "domestic."  I love cooking, baking, decorating, and flower gardening. My family and I live in a hundred-year-old house that we have been working on for a while.  I call my style "Grandma's House" even though I am not a Grandma yet.  We have a bratty cat, an energetic kitten, and a sweet dog.

I am very close to my extended family - my parents, my brothers, and their families.

We are a close family and enjoy spending time together at worship, camping, and just enjoying laughing at home.

My husband Robert (of nearly 29 years) and our son Chandler at his graduation.  Chandler is studying Automotive Technology at Tyler Junior College and will complete his associate's degree in May 2018.

Our daughters Autumn and Chloe.
Autumn is a student at UT Tyler where she is a member of the honors program.  She is studying to be an English/Spanish teacher and will graduate in May 2018.
Chloe is a graduate of the Art Institute of Dallas with a degree in Culinary Arts - Baking and Pastry.  She is currently a nanny and also has her own bakery.  Both my daughters are Lularoe clothing consultants also.
