Ms. Ammons attended the University of Texas and Texas A&M University at Commerce. She got a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, English, and Kindergarten. She has been teaching for 31 years, 26 of which have been here at Martin's Mill.

Ms. Ammons enjoys reading, sewing, and collecting antiques. She has 4 children, 2 daughters-in-law, and 7 grandchildren.
