Campus Parent Involvement Policy
Acknowledging that parent/guardians are a student’s firs teachers and that this continuing support is essential for academic success, Martin’s Mill Elementary School is committed to the following parent’s involvement policy:
Title I, Part A parents will annually receive information concerning the implementation of the Title 1, Part A program will be encouraged to offer suggestions for improving/strengthening the program.
Parents will be given timely information concerning overall student performance standards and expectations. (TEKS)
Parents will be given timely information concerning campus/state assessment instruments: local assessment measures, TPRI, RPTE, TAKS, SDAA, etc.
Parents will be offered opportunities for learning how to foster improved academic performance for their child(ren).
Parent representatives (including parents of Title I, Part A students) will be involved in the development, review and evaluation of the campus improvement plan.
Title I, Part A parents will be involved annually in eh review/revision of the School/Parent Compact.
Title I Part A parents will be asked to complete surveys seeking evaluation of the Title I, Part A program and parent involvement.
Parents will annually review and revise the policy.
TARDIES: Students who arrive in the tier classroom after 8:10 tardy bell must obtain a class admit slip from the office.
VISITORS: Visitor passes must be picked up at the campus office when you arrive on school grounds. Please conduct yourself according to school rules while on campus. The principal or faculty mat request identification from any person on school property. The principal will ask any person not having legitimate business to leave.
WITHDRAWING FROM SCHOOL: Please contact the office as soon as possible when you become aware that your child will be withdrawing from our school. This will enable the school secretary to have all withdrawal papers prepared and prevent and inconvenient day.
CREDIT BY EXAM: School districts are required to offer three (3) testing days twice a year for the administration of exams for acceleration to all students who wish to earn credit without prior instruction. Students in kindergarten would need to score 90% mastery on a locally devised checklist for the purpose of acceleration. A four-(4) test battery of exams(math, reading/language arts, science and social studies) is available.
